M2001 legacy equipment resource

The wrong manual can be more dangerous than no manual.

Legacy PDFs often circulate without revision control. Identify the exact unit first, then validate any manual against its nameplate, controls, electrical configuration and component layout.

Documentation hierarchy

Use the strongest available evidence first

  1. Unit nameplate and labels: model, serial, revision, voltage, current and warnings.
  2. Revision-specific operating/service manual: matching identifiers and configuration.
  3. Original purchase and service records: accessories, modifications and repairs.
  4. Controlled site SOP: approved local handling and validation process.
  5. Archival reseller descriptions: useful context, but not controlling instructions.
Manual request packet

Provide these items before requesting documentation

Identity photographs

Front, rear, both sides, nameplate, control panel and serial/revision labels.

Connection photographs

Power plug, fog outlet, hose, wand, fill points, drain and vent/relief areas.

History

Approximate purchase date, prior owner, last operation, known repairs and missing accessories.

Purpose

Whether the need is operation, qualification, repair, resale, replacement or audit documentation.

Revision matching

Reject a document when key fields conflict

Do not use a manual when the voltage, current, controls, fill arrangement, hose connection, venting, internal layout or model designation conflicts with the installed unit. Mark unverified documents as reference-only until the match is resolved.

Records for regulated work

Preserve more than the equipment manual

For pharmaceutical, semiconductor or other controlled environments, retain the approved test protocol, operator training, risk assessment, calibration/inspection records where applicable, equipment condition record, execution data, deviations, video and final report. The fogger manual supports operation; it does not replace the validation record.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers

Can Applied Physics guarantee it has my exact M2001 manual?

No. Submit the unit identifiers and photographs first. Applied Physics can evaluate the request and recommend next steps, but should not claim revision-specific documentation without verifying the match.

Should I publish an old manual online?

Only when rights, revision accuracy, safety and sensitive information have been reviewed. An uncontrolled manual can create risk for owners of different revisions.

Do not select a replacement from the model name alone.

Applied Physics can compare the existing unit, test objective, required fog output, runtime, room size, delivery hose and facility constraints before recommending a current ultrasonic or LN₂ platform.
